Our primary mission is video education for ophthalmic surgeons worldwide.

We are always interested in video submissions to the Video Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. If you have an excellent surgical video that would be of interest to other ophthalmic surgeons, please submit it to our editor, Robert H. Osher, M.D. for consideration.

Please consult a qualified video technician when creating your video to ensure the best technical quality. We can accept your SVHS, 3/4”, Betacam, DVCAM, or Mini DV edited master (Please, no CD-ROM’s) with the surgeon providing narration in English. Please include 30 seconds of color bars at the beginning of your tape, followed by 30 seconds of black before the program begins. Thirty seconds of black should also follow the program. We prefer that the videotape consist primarily of through-themicroscope surgical footage with the surgeon’s narration. Most contributions included in the Journal are five to seven minutes in length. Contributions are welcome from around the world on any topic of interest to cataract and refractive surgeons, including new techniques, new technology, complication management and controversies in these fields. We can accept videotapes in foreign formats, such as PAL and SECAM, for conversion to American NTSC format, or alternatively, you can convert your PAL or SECAM tapes to NTSC prior to submission.

Please send Dr. Osher a letter under separate cover, briefly describing your video submission. Thank you for sharing your techniques with our subscribers.
